As a director, Brad Baron most recently organized a workshop presentation of his play in progress Last Ditch Playlist at Dixon Place. He also directed fully staged scenes from Carousel and assistant directed Dido and Aeneas and The Mikado with LSU Opera Theatre. As a writer, he has authored dozens of stage plays to date. In recent years: he contributed works to the 2016 New Jersey One Minute Play Festival (#1MPF); his one acts Homochondria and Queer Assumptions were mounted as part of the 2015 and 2016 Rainbow Festivals with the La Strada Ensemble Theater; Last Ditch Playlist had its first public reading with the Village Playwrights in New York City; his short play 140 Characters or Less was presented in the Second Annual Short Play Festival with Luna Stage; his Where We Always Go was presented in the New Playwrights Series at The Villagers Theater; and Homochondria had its regional premiere as a part of the Ringwald Theatre’s Gay Play Series (GPS). While at Princeton University, he re-imagined Sophocles’ Oedipus plays in an original drama titled In the Waste: A Theban Cycle, presented in a staged reading that he also directed.
